DIPSI is a “Single-Step” procedure that is both a screening and a diagnostic test.
Glucose Load: 75g anhydrous glucose dissolved in 300 ml water.
Condition: Non-fasting (irrespective of last meal).
Time of Test: Venous plasma glucose is measured 2 hours after the load.
Diagnostic Cut-off: ≥ 140 mg/dL.
Screening Schedule:
- 1st Visit (Early pregnancy/1st Trimester)
- 24–28 weeks (Peak insulin resistance)
- 32–34 weeks

If the patient vomits within 30 minutes, repeat the test the next day. If she vomits after 30 minutes, continue the test.
